Dancy Tangerine

Dancy Tangerine

This Dancy fruit is the first citrus to be called a tangerine as it was grown in Tangiers. It originated in Buena Vista, Florda as a seedling of a Moroccan plant. The Dancy fruit is small to medium sized, easy to peel (also known as a zipper-skin or kid glove tangerine), has seeds, has a rich and sprightly flavor, and is moderately juicy.  The tree has a vigorous erect growth habit and wide lance-shaped leaves. There are a few thorns and the trees need space in the landscape.  This tree has a tendency to bear in alternate years.
