The Chardonnay Grape (occasionally called Pinot Chardonnay) produces some of the very best dry white wines in the world. It makes wines of great depth and finesse, with almost a creamy richness in the best vintages. It is used in wine industries in California and the Chablis and Burgundy regions of France, Australia, and New Zealand.
With a fruity character, subsequent barrel-influenced flavors can include oak and vanilla, with creamy or buttery elements gained during fermentation. The berry is considered to be small with a green skin and contains a seed.
