  • Care and Planting:

Generally speaking in our area watering once a week or every 5 to 7 days is adequate.  If you have extremely fast draining soil, watering every 3-4 days may suffice, but only if the roots are drying out within a day or a few days prior to watering. Only do this if your tree seems to be struggling when getting water once a week, and if your soil is extremely sandy/quick draining. Overwatering can kill a tree faster than underwatering so we strongly advise watering once a week to begin with or every 5 to 7 days.

It's also important to note you will want to give the roots some time to dry out. Citrus especially do not like their roots sitting in constant water or moisture. You should not be watering so back to back that the soil around the roots never dries. Also when the weather is extremely hot you should be watering more generously.
